Satoshi Kon's rather enthralling anime thriller Perfect Blue follows the story of a young woman named Mima Kiregoe, a popstar who is forced to become an actress. Unknown by her, the producers of the show make her take part in a role that is rather 'dirty'. Satoshi Kon has created a taut, tense thriller that's a lot more coherent than many sci-fi, suspense animes, and deftly weaves several levels of reality up until the shocking twist of an ending. Highly suggested.
