Princess Mononoke
SCORE: 100/100
From director Hayao Miyazaki, the man responsible for movies such as "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle", "Ponyo", and "The Cat Returns", yup you know where I'm getting at.. Never have I seen Ghibli movie like this before! The movie starts out with our hero, Prince Ashitaka defending his village from an angry boar demon, in the process of doing so, the demon puts a curse on the young prince. According to one of the village elders, the curse will spread throughout his body, and eventually kill him, she tells him that he cannot change his destiny, but he can rise to challenge it. So he travels north to the land where the demon came from, and met San, the princess of the wolves. Together they do battle against an evil samurai warlord who threatens to kill the forest. It's a totaly landmark in the world of animation, that has a good plot, good storytelling, and fantastic artwork. **NOTE that this is a cartoon but some scenes can be kind of bloody, and there is some language and mild cursing. And, it was meant to recieve the R rating, but since the studio made some scenes more mild, it was lowered to PG-13 to attract more audiences. A never-ending visual feast from stat to finnish that never gets boring, especially when this movie is almost 2:30mins the fast paced action and well-scripted dialogue will always have your eyes glued from start to finnish. **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
