Ice Age 4: Continental Drift
SCORE: 55/100
Honestly, will our silly little flying squirrel Scrat ever get his acorn? I guess we'll never know. Ice Age 4 never really drifts away from the first 3 installments of the franchise, some of it feels a little recycles. Anyway, this movie starts out with our furry little friend, Scrat who is actually holding an acorn in his hand, for some reason he puts it down on top of a mountain and plummets down to the center of the earth. While he's there, he starts to run around causing the tectonic plates to split up and separate, while all this is happening the Ice Age gang (Manny, Diego, and Sid) get separated from their home and drift into the wide open sea. Along their journey, they com across this pirate ship headed by a monkey, and other animals that would naturally be stronger than a monkey in real life, but that's just how the movie goes. Then, the gang finds their way around the problem (as usual), befriends one of the enemies (cliche) and gets back on he way to find the rest of the family they left back at home. This movie may offer some silly slapstick humor, but if you are above the age of 12, you probably won't laugh one bit. I also feel like they recycle jokes from other movies cause it seems to delight children, and I also felt that I was watching the same ice age movie all over again, at some points this movie can be slow, shallow, and repetative. But then again, this movie can be very entertaining at times, especially in 3D, and is much more fun than Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.
